Introductory Course (intensive)
This 2-day course starts with the basics of SIMUL8 but quickly moves on to cover routing and timing, batching and assembling of work items, shift work, labels to define properties of work items, and the use of distributions to incorporate variability into process cycle times. Much of Day 2 is devoted to SIMUL8's internal programming language, Visual Logic, which provides scope for modelling virtually any situation through conditional structures such as 'if ... then..', etc.
The course is suitable for delegates with good analytical skills but who are unfamiliar with SIMUL8. It is a very practical course with a strong emphasis on hands-on activities. Delegates are set 4 linked assignments of increasing complexity that further reinforce the features covered in the course.
